What fits at this size
| What you are uploading | Fits in 2 MB? |
|---|---|
| Phone-scanned PDF of 20–30 pages | Usually yes, at good sharpness |
| Slide deck exported with photos | Usually; the photos are compressed first |
| Design portfolio or photo book | Often, at reduced photo detail |
| Typed report of any common length | Almost always under already, and returned as it is |
Before you submit
- Phone scanner apps often save every page as a full-resolution photo, so a 20-page scan can easily reach 20 MB or more. Most of that is detail no screen shows.
- PDFs over 200 MB go straight to page images, skipping the text-preserving levels, so the browser tab does not run out of memory.
- If an email still bounces, the limit is usually on all attachments together. Send fewer files in one email, or share a link instead.

Portals count 2 MB as either 2,000 or 2,048 KB. The tool aims under 2,000 KB, so the file passes either way.
No. A PDF already under 2 MB is returned unchanged, and a larger one is only ever made smaller. If nothing reaches 2 MB, you get the smallest version with its size shown.
It varies, so the tool aims about 3% under the upper limit and, where there is a lower limit, just above it in 1,024-byte KB. The file is accepted either way.
