What is Image Resizer?
Resize a photo when a form specifies pixel dimensions or you need a smaller image for a document. Pixel dimensions and file size are different requirements: reaching the requested width and height does not guarantee the image fits a KB limit.
For a form requesting a 413 × 531 pixel photo, crop to the required shape first, then resize to those dimensions. Stretching a differently shaped image can distort the face. If the result is too large in KB, compress it after resizing and check the final dimensions again.
Centimetres and millimetres are converted to pixels using the chosen DPI. DPI describes intended print density; changing DPI alone does not create detail missing from a small original.

Common problems & how to fix them
Enlarging a small image stretches the existing pixels, which softens detail. For sharp results, start from a higher-resolution original or scale down rather than up.
This happens when the new width and height do not match the original aspect ratio. Use the percentage option or keep the same proportion between width and height to avoid distortion.
This tool works with JPG, PNG, and WebP. If your image is in another format, convert it to one of these first, then resize it.
Reducing pixel dimensions usually lowers file size, but very detailed images can stay large. Try a smaller width and height, or save from a JPG source for a lighter file.
Use the bulk option and set one target width and height so all files come out matching, rather than resizing each image separately.
Nothing is stored on the server, so simply upload the original again and enter the correct size. Keep a copy of your original before resizing.
Before you use the output
- Check final width and height in pixels.
- Inspect the image for stretching or an unintended crop.
