Add a Digital Stamp to a PDF
Drop an approval seal, company logo or signature onto any page and drag it exactly where it belongs. Resize, rotate, stack several stamps and apply them across a page range — all in your browser.
What is PDF Stamp?
The DocsSeva PDF Stamp tool is a free online stamping app that lets you place a digital stamp anywhere on a PDF page and drag it into exactly the right spot. Choose a ready-made rubber stamp such as APPROVED, PAID, RECEIVED, CONFIDENTIAL or VERIFIED, upload your own company seal or logo, or draw a signature with your mouse or finger. Once it is on the page you can move it, scale it with the corner handle, spin it with the rotation handle and nudge it a fraction at a time with the arrow keys until the placement is perfect.
This is what separates a stamp from a watermark. A watermark is applied uniformly across the whole document, while a stamp is a specific mark that belongs in a specific place — the signature block at the foot of a contract, the empty corner of an invoice, the margin beside a clause. Because you position it visually on a live preview of the real page, you can see exactly what the recipient will see before you export, instead of guessing at coordinates or margins.
The tool is built for real documents rather than single pages. You can stack several stamps on the same file, and each one carries its own page targeting: this page only, every page, first page, last page, odd pages, even pages, or a custom range like 1, 4-6. A seal can go on page one while a Page {page} of {pages} marker runs across the whole document, all in a single pass. Dynamic fields let a stamp fill in today's date, the current time or the page number automatically, so a RECEIVED stamp is dated correctly without you typing anything.
Everything runs inside your browser. The PDF is opened, previewed and rewritten on your own device — nothing is uploaded to a server, nothing is stored, and no watermark or branding is added to your file. That makes it safe for signed contracts, invoices, medical forms, legal filings and anything else you would not want sitting in a stranger's upload folder. It works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, with nothing to install and no account to create.
When should you use PDF Stamp?
- You need to mark an invoice or purchase order as PAID before sending it on
- A contract needs your signature dropped into the signature block, not scrawled across the page
- You are approving a document and it needs a dated APPROVED or VERIFIED seal
- An office logs incoming paperwork and every file needs a RECEIVED stamp with the date
- You want your company seal or letterhead logo placed in the same corner of every page
- A document must be marked CONFIDENTIAL, ORIGINAL, COPY or DRAFT in a specific position
- You need a page marker such as 'Page 3 of 12' stamped across a long bundle
- Different pages of the same file need different stamps applied in one pass
- You have no printer or scanner nearby and still need a stamped, signed-looking PDF
Benefits of using PDF Stamp
Drag it exactly where it belongs
Position the stamp visually on a live preview of the real page. Drag to move, use the corner handle to resize, the top handle to rotate, and the arrow keys to nudge it precisely. Optional snapping lines it up with the margins and the centre.
Stamps, seals, logos and signatures
Use a built-in rubber stamp, upload a PNG or JPG of your company seal or logo, or draw a signature right in the browser. Imported images can have their white paper background knocked out automatically so only the ink remains.
Per-stamp page targeting
Every stamp decides its own pages — this page, all pages, first, last, odd, even or a custom range such as 1, 4-6. Several stamps with different targets can be applied to the same document in one export.
Dates and page numbers fill themselves in
Put {date}, {time}, {page} or {pages} into a stamp and it resolves per page when you export, so a dated RECEIVED stamp or a 'Page 3 of 12' marker stays correct without any manual typing.
Permanent, not a sticky note
Each stamp is drawn into the page content stream rather than added as an annotation layer, so it cannot be selected, dragged away or toggled off in a PDF reader.
Private and completely free
The PDF never leaves your device — pages are rendered and rewritten in your browser. There is no account, no watermark on the output, and no cost.
How to use PDF Stamp
- 1
Open the PDF Stamp tool
Go to the DocsSeva PDF Stamp page in any modern browser. There is nothing to install and no sign-up.
- 2
Add your PDF
Drag and drop the document onto the page or click to browse for it. The first page appears as a live preview you can work on, and you can step through the pages with the pager above it.
- 3
Choose a stamp
Pick a ready-made stamp such as APPROVED, PAID or CONFIDENTIAL, type your own custom text, upload a logo or seal image, or draw a signature in the signature pad.
- 4
Drag it into position
Move the stamp with your mouse or finger, resize it with the corner handle, rotate it with the handle above it, and fine-tune with the arrow keys. The quick-placement grid jumps it to any of the nine standard page positions.
- 5
Set the pages and style
Choose whether the stamp applies to this page, every page or a custom range, then adjust the ink colour, size, opacity, rotation and frame style. Add more stamps if the document needs them.
- 6
Apply and download
Click 'Apply stamps' to write them into the document, review the stamped result in the preview, and download the finished PDF with no watermark added.
Common problems & how to fix them
Drag the corner handle in or out to scale it, or use the size slider in the panel. Text stamps are measured in points, so a 40 pt stamp on an A4 page is roughly the height of a large heading.
Turn snapping off, or hold Alt while dragging, to place it freely. For very fine adjustments select the stamp and tap the arrow keys — each press moves it a fraction of a percent, and Shift plus an arrow moves it further.
Tick 'Make the white background transparent on imported images' before uploading. It removes the near-white paper from a scanned or photographed stamp and fades the edge so the letters stay smooth.
Each stamp targets pages independently and defaults to the page you placed it on. Select the stamp and change 'Pages' to Every page, or enter a custom range such as 1, 4-6.
Use the date format selector to switch between DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD and DD MMM YYYY. The {date} field then resolves in that format everywhere it appears.
Password-protected files have to be unlocked first — remove the password with the PDF Unlock tool, then stamp the unlocked copy.
Pages are rendered on your own device, so speed depends on your hardware. Only the page you are looking at is rendered, so paging through is quick; close other heavy tabs if a very large scan feels sluggish.

Stamping a document should be as simple as picking up a rubber stamp and pressing it onto the right spot, and that is what the DocsSeva PDF Stamp tool gives you. You can add a stamp to a PDF online free, drag it exactly where it belongs, resize and rotate it until it looks right, and apply it to one page, every page or a custom range.
