Compress Image to 10 KB
10 KB is the tightest limit in common use, and it usually means a signature or a thumb impression. Drop in your scan and download a JPG under 10 KB: a signature on white paper stays sharp at this size, while a photo comes out small.
Runs in your browser. Your file is not uploaded and nothing is stored.

What fits at this size
| Image | Typical result under 10 KB |
|---|---|
| Signature in dark ink on white paper | Wide and sharp: plain paper costs almost nothing to store |
| Thumb impression | Readable when cropped close to the print |
| Passport-style photo | Small, about 150–200 px wide; check the face is clear |
| Full phone photo | Shrunk a lot; crop to the part you need first |
Before you submit
- A signature is mostly blank paper, which compresses to almost nothing, so it usually fits under 10 KB at high quality. Shadows and grey paper are what push it over: photograph it in daylight on plain white paper.
- A transparent PNG signature is placed on white before saving, because JPG cannot store transparency. The background comes out white, not black.
- Many forms that cap a signature also set a minimum, such as 10–20 KB. If yours does, use the matching exam page below so the file lands inside the range.

Common Questions
Under 10 KB there is room for very few pixels of a detailed photo. The tool lowers quality first, and when the only fit would look blocky it shrinks the photo instead, because a small clear picture reads better than a large smeared one.
This page keeps your image's shape. For a fixed size such as 140 × 60 pixels, use an exam page or the Image Resizer, which set the dimensions and the file size together.
It varies, so the tool aims about 3% under the upper limit and, where there is a lower limit, just above it in 1,024-byte KB. The file is accepted either way.
