Compress Image to 200 KB
Get a photo or document scan under 200 KB with almost no visible change. At this size a full-page document photo stays readable and a phone picture keeps its detail on screen.

What fits at this size
| Image | Typical result under 200 KB |
|---|---|
| Phone photo (12 MP) | About 1,600–2,000 px on the long side, sharp |
| Document or certificate photographed on a desk | Readable at full page width once the desk is cropped out |
| ID card, both sides on one image | Sharp, with the fine print legible |
Before you submit
- Photos are capped at 2,000 pixels on the long side before compressing. No upload form needs more, and a 12 MP original spends most of its size on detail the portal throws away.
- Shoot documents flat and square to the camera. A tilted page wastes size on the background and is harder to read once it is made smaller.
- If the form wants the document as a PDF, turn the photo into one with Image to PDF, then use Compress PDF to 200 KB.

It varies, so the tool aims about 3% under the upper limit and, where there is a lower limit, just above it in 1,024-byte KB. The file is accepted either way.
